The Goričanec Rural Estate is located in the beautiful natural ambiance surrounding the Mura River. The area along the Mura River tributary abounds in animal life and offers restaurant service as well as horse riding and nature exploration activities. The Church of St Jerome houses beautiful Baroque frescos by Ivan Ranger dating from the 18th century. The Church of St Martin is built in the Gothic style and represents the oldest monument of such kind in Croatia. It preserves one of the first documents with Arabic numbers in our country.

The Zrinski Castle, today the Čakovec Međumirje Museum, has 18,993 exhibits, including archaeological, cultural, historic, ethnographic and fine art items from the territory of Međimurje. As its owner, the Museum takes care of the preservation and restoration of the Old City Complex in Čakovec and the Chapel of St Helen in Šenkovec (Kapelica Sv. Jelene).

At the northernmost point of Croatia, Sveti Martin na Muri, the powerful water of the Mura River turns the impressive wheel of the wooden river mill, a unique example of Croatian traditional architectural heritage. The murmur of the water and the creaking of the millstone will take you back in 1902 when flour was first ground on this floating ‘old man’. The “Miller’s Educational Path” has been built round the mill, in an idyllic natural ambiance.

Only a 15-minute walk from the Sveti Martin Spa & Golf Resort will take you to a deer farm where you can see male and female deer individually or as part of an organized tour with torches.
